Ken “the Old Man” Bainbridge Sr.
1940-2005
In our hearts forever.

After a 14 month fight against cancer. Ken passed away at his home in Amherst N.Y. February 9th, 2005 alongside Family and Friends.

My Dad had always said “I will not die from cancer, It will have to kill me.”

Dad's Career Highlight's

  • 1972- built the “first” Junior Dragster
  • 1977- Sons set National Record as becoming youngest “licensed” NHRA dragster drivers in the world at 5 years old
  • 1978- Donated Junior dragster to the “Big Daddy” Don Garlits Racing Museum in Ocala Florida. Still on display
  • 1979- designed the Roman III, Mustang II Modified Stock Car. Was cover story in the 1980 July edition of Stock Car Racing Magazine. Car was designed on Graph paper and all hand made. Its designs were ahead of its time.
  • 1974-2005 Built transmissions and gears for championship winning teams from ministocks to NASCAR Cup series.
  • 1980-1990’s- Built winning chassis including Drag cars, Street Stocks (asphalt and dirt), Super Stocks, Modifieds, Late Models (asphalt and Dirt)
  • 2015- Dad was inducted in the FOAR SCORE Hall of Fame

Dad's Customers

Dad started building transmissions and gears in his backyard shop in the 70’s. He grew to eventually building winning products from mini stocks to NASCAR Cup series, all out of that original shop.
